Medallion Ball - 11/26/10
More than 100 debutantes in exquisite white ball gowns were presented at the 47th annual Medallion Ball. The ladies were honored at the ceremony by His Excellency The Most Reverend David A. Zubik, Bishop of Pittsburgh, who awarded each candidate a St. Joan of Arc medallion for their outstanding service to the Pittsburgh community. The ladies-in-waiting were required to donate at least 100 hours to a charity of their choice. “The Medallion Ball celebrates volunteer service by girls who have so many other things going on in their lives but still take the time out to help those in need,” says Roseanne Wholey, publicity chair for the Ball. “In particular, Claire Gleason and Caroline Walker provided great numbers of volunteer hours with both amassing more than 500 hours,” Wholey added. More than 1,200 guests attended the Ball at the Wyndam Hotel Downtown.
