Summer Safari
Patrons of the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium embarked on an exotic adventure — making their way through the zoo grounds in search of fine cuisine, beverages, and entertainment at the 10th Annual Summer Safari, an outdoor event held to attract supporters and zoo-lovers from all over the region. Beginning and ending at the village area of the zoo — with three other stops in between — the celebration led the 2,500 “party animals” to “watering holes” filled with first-class (and graciously donated) fare from more than 35 Pittsburgh-area restaurants and vendors. The event raised $326,000 to support the Zoo and its mission to promote conservation, education, and research efforts. Photography by Rachel Stadelmeier.
