Bastille Day
The Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh and The Alliance Française brought francophone patriotism to Pittsburgh with its Fête Nationale – also known as Bastille Day – celebration. To commemorate the French national holiday, 260 guests gathered to enjoy an evening of French art, cuisine, wine, and entertainment at the Carnegie Museum in Oakland. The event began with a private viewing of the Scaife Galleries – home to the works of many French artists – and was followed by a strolling buffet of French cuisine, made-to-order crêpes, wine, and a French dessert buffet. The celebratory event also served as a fundraiser, and the proceeds will directly benefit and be equally divided between the Carnegie Museums of Pittsburgh and the Alliance Française.
