Savor Pittsburgh - 9/2/10
Once again, the SouthSide Works bloomed with beautiful white tents, populated by pretty foodies for Savor Pittsburgh, the region’s swankiest and most elite food competition. A panel of media judges, including WHIRL’s own Victoria Bradley, tasted while more than 50 restaurants competed for the coveted titles of “Best Appetizer,” which went to SAVOY Restaurant and Lounge’s satay, “Best Entrée,” which went to Tusca Global Tapas’s pepper pork mignon, and “Best Dessert, which went to Tree Tops Restaurant’s praline and goat cheese cheesecake. The yummy dessert also took “Dish of the Year.” The fashionable (and hungry!) guests got to weigh in, too, voting for the WHIRL Magazine People’s Choice Awards, which was awarded to McCormick & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant. American Respiratory Alliance was the evening’s beneficiary, and collected more than $120,000 for their cause. Photography by Megan Wylie Ruffing
