LHAS Gala - 8/28/10
Black tie-attired guests, to the tune of 428, filled the Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh for the 2010 Ladies Hospital Aid Society Gala, themed “The Best is Yet to Come.” Master of ceremony James Roddey started the evening off, and after cocktails and dinner, Gary Racan and the studio-e band had attendees dancing into the night. Gala chairs Ruby Kang and Mary Ellen Wampler, along with honorary chair Dr. Thomas Detre, helped make the evening the best so far — $100,000 was raised for research on aging and longevity at the University of Pittsburgh Graduate School of Public Health. “The support of the community at large was tremendous due to the cause. Research on aging and longevity is near and dear to everyone’s heart in this day and age. Everyone wants the fountain of youth,” says Dee Dee Troutman, executive director of LHAS.
