Candidates Comedy Night - 8/20/09
The Pittsburgh Improv welcomed a different set of comedians to its stage during Candidates Comedy Night — elected officials and hopeful candidates alike wowed the sold-out audience of 350 with their brand of satire. Senator Arlen Specter, Allegheny County Chief Executive Dan Onorato, and mayoral hopeful Franco Dok Harris were among the comedians for the evening, which was emceed by Gene Collier. Governor Ed Rendell made a special appearance via video, and it was all for a good cause — $32,000 was raised for the Allegheny County Music Festival Fund, which helps provide children with dance, karate, and music lessons, summer camp, field trips, and scholarships.
