Savor Pittsburgh
There was a parade of plates at the SouthSide Works for the third annual Savor Pittsburgh. The event, benefiting Lupus Center of Excellence, hosted 16 restaurants, all vying for the awards as they showed off their fanciest fare for a panel of judges, which included WHIRL’s Senior Editor Victoria Bradley. Five hundred foodie guests perused the culinary tents, sampling Red Room’s Chef Kevin Sousa’s Country Fried Skate, which won Dish of the Year, and McCormick and Schmick’s Chef Christian Mayrhofer’s Drunken Monkey, which scored Best Dessert.
