Ninth Annual Rainbows and Roses Benefit - 9/11/09
More than 400 guests gathered for a lovely night at the Mother’s Hope Foundation’s Ninth Annual Rainbow and Roses Benefit Evening at the Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh. The group dined on a colorful array of dishes that included a blackberry salad and roasted red pepper tomato soup served to the backdrop of the stirring sounds of the North Allegheny Strolling Strings. At a silent auction, guests bid on Pittsburgh Penguin and Pittsburgh Steelers memorabilia, A Paris Deluxe Vacation package, and a David Yurman bracelet and earrings donated by Louis Anthony Jewelers. The event, which raised more than $165,000, had Mother’s Hope poster children there, which reminded attendees what all the work was for. “You see what a blessing and privilege it is to be helping the littlest of the little and the poorest of the poor,” says Mother’s Hope executive director Cathy Howe.
