Maecenas Unmasked- 5/8/10

The 26th Annual Maecenas Gala “unmasked” the Pittsburgh Opera’s new headquarters in the Strip District to its 370 guests. The night, which raised $325,000, featured food by All in Good Taste Productions’ Bob Sendall and a performance of “Ride of the Valkyries” by residents of the Opera. The evening also honored Mildred Miller Posvar with the Renaissance Award and the presented the Maecenas Award to Joseph and Carol Massaro. A Treasure Chest valued at $26,000 was raffled off at the end of the night and featured 13 designer ties, handbags by Judith Leiber and Kooba, a Gucci wallet, a stay at the new Fairmont Pittsburgh hotel, and more! “The event was a great way to showcase the new building, not only at the end of a great season, but at the start of a new era in our new headquarters,” says Pittsburgh Opera Public Relations Manager Kesha M. Pate.
