Whippin' It Up for Healthy Futures - 11/12/10
The Duquesne Club Executive Chef Keith Coughenour caused a stir by flaunting his culinary skills to a hungry audience of more than 180 at The Twenty-Five Club of Magee-Womens Hospital of UPMC’s luncheon, Whippin’ It Up For Healthy Futures. Following a morning of shopping the marketplace, which featured jewelry from Louis Anthony Jewelers, WTAE-TV’s Wendy Bell moderated culinary demonstrations of the luncheon’s menu by Chef Coughenour and Pastry Chef Orlando Santos — purée of five-onion soup, pan-fried and wild mushroom chicken croquettes, faro and white bean salad, and The Duquesne Club’s signature macaroons. “The luncheon enables The 25 Club to familiarize the community with research and to support projects that the organization funds for frail and newborn babies,” says Barbara Mendlowitz, publicity chair.
