American Girl Fashion Shows - 11/20/10
Young girls squealed with delight as they watched their favorite American Girl dolls sashay down the runway in the arms of little models at the third annual American Girl Fashion Shows. Held over the course of a weekend at the Club at Nevillewood, the fashion shows displayed the evolution of American fashions, starting from the 17th century and continuing to today’s contemporary styles. “A lot of people liked the historical styles, especially the Native American outfits. It’s really special that local girls get to participate and model the clothes that they read about in the books,” says Rebecca Gable, American Girl Fashion Shows chair. More than 1,000 guests attended the fashion shows, and the estimated $30,000 raised will benefit the Junior League of Pittsburgh’s Healthy Kids Initiative.
