Hope Has a Home Gala - 12/2/09
Gateway Rehabilitation Center’s Hope Has a Home Gala was an inspiring demonstration of the organization’s work. Three hundred guests joined emcee WTAE-TV news anchor Sally Wiggin at the Westin Convention Center Pittsburgh to listen to the music and humor of Larry Gatlin as he detailed his journey of addiction and recovery. Gateway founder and medical director emeritus Dr. Abraham J. Twerski discussed the organization’s work and introduced alumnus Joe W., along with his parents, to talk about his story and two year sobriety. After dining on Tuscany chicken, guests enjoyed a chocolate box with mousse topped with a white chocolate bar bearing Gateway’s logo. The group also handed out Sarris chocolate bars that said “hope Has a Home” in honor of its message. The evening raised $100,000 to benefit Gateway Rehab’s youth programs.Photography by Megan Wylie
