Steelers Style Fashion Show - 10/15/10
The invitation for this year’s Steelers Style 2010 was the perfect precursor to the evening. It read, “Under every helmet you'll see an athlete. Beyond the athlete you’ll meet a person. Behind the person, you’ll find a community.” The evening brought together 800 guests to support the UPMC Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute and the Cancer Caring Center. Decked out in their best black and gold styles, Pittsburgh Steelers players and families modeled their favorite fashions to raise $750,000. “The guys like the opportunity to show off some of their nicer clothes. And they know it’s for a good cause. That combination makes for such a great event because it showcases our players underneath the mask,” says Pittsburgh Steelers spokesman, Dave Lockett. Sponsored by American Eagle Outfitters, Reebok, and Nordstrom, the event was co-chaired by Greta and Art Rooney II and Kiya and Mike Tomlin.
