Andora Restaurant Grand Opening - 10/27/10

Mike McMullen and his wife, Julie, combined the opening of their new restaurant, Andora, with a fundraiser to support the doctor who saved Julie’s life. Diagnosed with ovarian cancer at the age of 27, the McMullens turned to Dr. Thomas Krivak’s cutting-edge medical expertise to overcome the illness. To show their gratitude, the McMullens — who are expecting their first child in January! — hosted a fabulous cocktail party in Dr. Krivak’s honor. Guests enjoyed a silent and live auction emceed by DVE Morning Show host, Jim Krenn, featuring a private cruise for six, from Vero Beach, Fla., to the Bahamas. All of the $80,000 raised will directly support Dr. Krivak’s efforts to “better prevent, detect, treat, and one day, cure this gynecologic cancer,” says Andrea Romo, communications specialist for Magee-Womens Research Institute and Foundation.
