Pink Ribbon Round-Up - 10/9/09
More than 350 guests trotted out to the Lexus of North Hills Showroom for the Pink Ribbon Round-Up Gala to benefit Susan G. Komen for the Cure, Pittsburgh Affiliate. Attendees sipped on pomegranate martinis and margaritas and line danced to the country western group, The Girls. Y-108 FM’s Stoney Richards of served as the event’s emcee and KDKA-TV’s Mary Robb Jackson, a breast cancer survivor, was the honorary chairperson of the event. At one point during the evening every year, breast cancer survivors take the stage and say a few words about their fight and remission. “That’s always a very, very moving time for the women, but also for the entire audience,” says Linda Murphy, VP of public relations. The galloping good time was a precursor to the following day’s Pink Ribbon Round-Up Trail Ride, which is a sponsored horseback ride to raise money for the Susan G.
