VIP* Party - 6/3/09
Pittsburgh Public Theater gave 24 of its works the red-carpet treatment at the theater’s inaugural VIP (Very Important Premiere) Party. Held at the O’Reilly Theater, the night celebrated all of the theater’s World and American premieres in the past 34 years. Lynn Ahrens, Tony-award winning lyricist and Stephen Flaherty, Tony-award winning composer, were honorary co-chairs of this event and met with sponsors and guests at Café Zao for gourmet hors d’oevures during the sponsors’ reception. Then, attendees were treated to the premiere of Harry’s Friendly Service, a new play by Rob Zellers, and an after-party with delectable desserts by Joe Frost. “The party was about what we do best, producing world-class theater,” says Lou Castelli, director of external affairs for the PPT.
